Jamie's Whaling Station Ltd.

About Us

Jamie's Whaling Station and Adventure Centres has celebrated nearly 40 years as the original whale tour company on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Since 1982, Jamie's has grown to encompass the original Whaling Wharf – our Jamie's Adventure Station in Tofino, and in 2000 established the harbour-front hub of Jamie's Adventure Station in Ucluelet. But Jamie's is more than just whales – we've fostered partnerships with many local operators to offer a range of adventure options for all ages and interests, making us a one-stop resource for whale watching, bear watching, tours to Hot Springs Cove and Meares Island, kayaking, scenic flights, hiking, sunset cruises and more!

With 30 years in the whale watching and tourism industry on the west coast, Jamie's Whaling Station has always been a progressive company. On December 13, 2012, we acquired a 40-room accommodation in Tofino, the former Clayoquot-Orca Resort Lodge, now the new Jamie's Rainforest Inn. This is another step forward, allowing Jamie's to offer accommodations along with remarkable west coast adventures.

Over 45 west coast residents make up our Jamie's crew of professionals each year, the majority of which are dedicated employees that have been here from 5 to 25 years. With the acquisition of Jamie's Rainforest Inn, we anticipate employing an additional 20-25 residents. We consider ourselves to be a family-run, family-oriented business. Jamie's prioritizes extensive certification to ensure our crew are always trained and equipped with the highest standards of safety and service. The Jamie's crew are all passionate about life on the west coast and proud of the unique and inspiring west coast experiences we are fortunate to share with the thousands of visitors, and locals, we see each year. Wildlife research, rescue and education are also an important and vital part of the big picture.

We are proud to recognize that since 1997, with the help of our patrons, we have raised and donated over $1,000,000 to non-profits such as: Surfrider Pacific Rim, Pacific Wildlife Foundation, Strawberry Isle Marine Research Society, Raincoast Education Society, West Coast Bear Aware, North Island Wildlife Recovery Center, Ucluelet Coast Guard Auxiliary, Ucluelet Aquarium, and various other independent projects. Jamie's $3 per passenger research fee, added to all of our fares, will be collected well into the future to ensure continued support of these non-profit organizations. It has been an amazing 30 years in business and Jamie and the crew are eager to continue sharing our passion for the west coast and its wild inhabitants for many years to come.
